Avenza Maps has a new message that pops up when you launch the app that they are placing a limitation on the number of custom maps that you can import, reducing it to zero.
Beginning next week, Free users will be allowed zero custom map imports. Maps downloaded from the Map Store are not considered imported custom maps and do not count toward this limit.
All active custom maps will be made inactive. To retain the active custom maps you have imported upgrade to Avenza Maps Plus. Avenza Maps Plus allows up to 20 custom map imports.
If you upgrade to Avenza Maps Plus (currently $49.99/year – as of March 2026) you will be able to import up to 20 custom maps.
